Polyester (Y) Media Filter Cartridge
A manufactured fiber in which the fiber-forming substance is any long-chain synthetic polymer composed of at least 85% by weight of an ester of a substituted aromatic carboxylic acid, including but not restricted to substituted terephtalate units, and parasubstituted hydropxybenzoate units.
Typical Applications:
- Chemical compatibility similar to cotton and polypropylene. Has higher temperature than cotton and polypropylene in most liquids.
Good resistance to most mineral acids. Dissolves with partial decomposition in concentrated solutions of sulfuric acids. Good resistance to weak alkalis. Moderate resistance to strong alkalis at boil.
350º F/177º C depending upon type of core used.
