A unicellular, natural fiber composed of almost pure cellulose. As taken from plants, the fiber is found in lengths of 3/8' to 2'. The fiber is then bleached to meet FDA requirements. JFPI manufactures. (3) types of cotton media; bleached (C), white (EC) (industrial) and natural (U). Bleaching is done using sodium hypocholorite as the bleaching agent followed by a hydrogen peroxide/water rinse. Independent tests have confirmed that there are no residual hypochlorite/peroxides in bleached products. Beginning to make a strong comeback in the marketplace due to being a natural product, not man-made, therefore it is bio-degradable.
A manufactured fiber in which the fiber-forming substance is glass, extruded at 2500 degrees F. JFPI manufactures (2) types of fiberglass; fiberglass (G), and heat treated (GH) which is used in applications above 400 degrees F, the finish is baked off to prevent finish from liquefying and going downstream into solution.
Nylon (N) Media Filter Cartridge A manufactured fiber in which the fiber-forming substance is a long-chain synthetic polyamide in which less than 85 percent of the amide linkages are attached directly to two aromatic rings.
Polyester (Y) Media Filter Cartridge A manufactured fiber in which the fiber-forming substance is any long-chain synthetic polymer composed of at least 85% by weight of an ester of a substituted aromatic carboxylic acid, including but not restricted to substituted terephtalate units, and parasubstituted hydropxybenzoate units.
Rayon Media Filter Cartridge A manufactured fiber composed of regenerated cellulose, as well as manufactured fibers composed of regenerated cellulose in which substituents have replaced not more than 15% of the hydrogen's of the Hydroxyl group. Manufactured to compete with cotton media's, originally suppose to be a less costly fiber, but is now more expensive. JFPI manufactures (2) types of rayon; FDA (FR), and industrial (R).
Activated Carbon Filter Cartridges Primarily used to remove trace organics amenable to adsorption: - Aromatic Solvents (i.e., Benzene, Toulene, Xylene) - Polynuclear Aromatics (i.e., Naphthalene, Biphenyl's) - Chlorinated Aromatics (i.e., Chlorobenzene, PCB's, Aldrin, Endrin, Toxaphene, DDT) - Phenolics (i.e., Phenol, Cresol, Resorcinol) - High Molecular Weight Aliphatic Amines and Aromatic Amines (i.e., Aniline, Toulene, Daimine) - High Molecular Weight Ketones, Esters, Ethers, and Alcohol's (i.e., Dextran, Polyethylene) - Surfactants (i.e., Alkyl Benzene Sulfonates) - Soluble Organic Dyes (i.e., Methylene Blue, Textile Dyes) - Fuels (i.e., Gasoline, Kerosene, Oil) - Chlorinated Solvents(i.e., Carbon Tetrachloride, Perchlorethylene) - Aliphatic and Aromatic Acids (i.e., Tar Acids, Benzonic Acids). Also used for efficient dechlorination, tastes, and odors.
Cartridges For Big Blue Vessels These cartridges are manufactured using larger O.D.'s than standard for greater flow and dirt holding capacity to fit Big Blue vessels or larger capacity vessels. Primarily manufactured from econ polypropylene (industrial JEP), FDA polypropylene (JP), and fibrillated polypropylene (non-foaming JF) on polypropylene cores (P), but can be manufactured using other types of media's and core materials. Two size O.D.'s are standard; (4') O.D. (B) and (4-1/2') O.D. (W), but again can be manufactured to O.D.'s up to (5-3/4'). Two lengths available; (9-7/8') (97) and (20'), if other lengths are needed please contact plant.
Polypropylene Media Filter Cartridge Olefin, a manufatured fiber in which the fiber-forming substance is any long-chain synthetic polymer composed of at least 85% by weight of ethylene, propylene or other olefin units. has become the most popular media on market due to its wide range of chemical compatibility. JFPI manufactures (4) types of polypropylene media's; FDA (P) (has coconut soap finish), econ (EP) industrial (has industrial finish), fibrillated (F) (continious strand, non-foaming, more of strainer type filter, and NON-FOAMING. This proprietary fiber has a finish that is non-foaming, therefore there is no longer any need to prewash or preflow filters as in the past. The biggest requests in this area have been from your customers in the plating industry, also applies to the drinking water industry or any other applications where polypropylene is required and non-foaming application is needed. When ordering, please specify on ordering NON-FOAMING POLYPROYLENE. Pricing will be same as that used FDA polypropylene published prices.
Compound Wind Filter Cartridges Two different micron retention's being used on the same filter cartrdige. For example: a 1 micron winding pattern would be wound as an inner wind of the filter cartridge, then a 50 micron winding pattern would be then be wound as the outer wind. This would give the user the ability to trap larger particulates as well as smaller particulates. This filter is becoming very popular in the market place today. In some applications it is replacing multi-stage filtration, reducing cost of filtration. Normally the smaller micron retention size is wound as the inner wind and the larger micron retention size is wound on the outer wind. This can be reversed depending upon the application. The filter can be manufactured using different types of media's, on different types of cores, to different size O.D.'s, and lengths. It is possible to wind one type of media to particular micron retention and wind another type of media to different micron retentions. Different end treatments, end caps and configurations can be installed.
